Since 1961, we have been researching, growing, and changing to ensure we are continually meeting the needs of our clients and our community with effective, quality programs and services.
Unlike stand-alone “methadone clinics” people hear about, this comprehensive non-profit setting is using best medical practices along with effective, person-centered psychosocial treatment to help patients. It is the first non-profit in Minnesota operating a recovery-oriented system of care while embracing Substance Use Disorder with Medications for Opioid Use Disorder options as part of its process. Clearpath Clinic is unlike anything Minnesota has seen before we are involved in a number of community initiatives and works closely with community partners at coordinating care.
Clearpath serves as a rich learning environment for area nursing, pharmacy, and medical students. The clinic team provides community education as well as serves as a national model for its work with correctional institutions. Additionally we provide interactive internships with students studying to become Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Social Workers. Additionally, we work with local colleges to provide rotational experiences for nursing students.
Clearpath provides greater hope for preventing, treating, and recovering from Opioid Use Disorder through safe, integrated treatment practices that serves patients, families, and our entire community.
The combination of Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) along with counseling has been proven the most effective way to treat Opioid Use Disorder. We offer integrated treatment services including, individual and group counseling, referals community resources, and coordination of care provided by a patient navigator. Additionally, we provide comprehensive medication management through a Clinical Pharmacist. We coordinate care with local correctional institutions for individuals to initiate and maintain Substance Use Disorder treatment with Medications for Opioid Use Disorders. Clearpath collaborates with community partners in order to provide holistic care.
We specialize in helping pregnant women address opioid, alcohol, and other Substance Use Disorders. According the Centers for Disease Control, current clinical recommendations for pregnant women with Opioid Use Disorder include Medications for Opioid Use Disorders, rather than supervised withdrawal, due to a higher likelihood of better outcomes and a reduced risk of relapse.
Clearpath Clinic offers direct access to all pregnant patients. We will also coordinate care with your physician, and provide education regarding the use of medication while pregnant, nutrition, and offer an educational pregnancy group provided by medical staff.
According to SAMHSA, methadone and buprenorphine are recommend treatment options for pregant people with Opioid Use Disorder.
We exist to reduce the risks and harm to the person who is addicted, their family and the community. Harm reduction incorporates a spectrum of strategies—from safer use to managed use to abstinence—to meet people “where they’re at” and address conditions of use, along with the use itself. It is also a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs.
You’re not alone in facing the challenges of Opioid Use Disorder. Yet you, as an individual, are unique in finding and cultivating the recovery path that works for you. Our programs use many different approaches to treatment and recovery so you can find the approach that’s most successful.
Methadone is a medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat Opioid Use Disorder. When taken as prescribed, methadone is safe and effective. Methadone helps people achieve and sustain recovery, as well as reclaim active and meaningful lives. Methadone is one component of a person-centered, comprehensive treatment approach, which also includes counseling and other behavioral health therapies. For More Information: SAMSHA-MAT
Methadone is a long acting opioid agonist and works by reducing opioid craving and withdrawal symptoms as well as blocks the effects of opioids. Methadone is available in liquid, powder and diskette forms. At Clearpath Clinic, you will work under the supervision of the medical provider and nursing staff at slowly adjusting your dose to achieve a stable level of medication.
Methadone is safe and effective when taken as prescribed. Methadone is specifically tailored to the individual patient and the dose is often adjusted and readjusted depending on the specific person to whom it’s being prescribed. Methadone is never to be shared with or given to others and there are a number of safety precautions that all patients at the clinic are well educated on.
