Job Description

Education Level: High School Diploma or equivalent

License:  Must pass CPR & First Aid Certification training; having Peer Recovery Specialist Certification is a bonus

Background: Must pass background check through Minnesota Department of Human Services (MN DHS)
Wage: Starts at $17an/hr. Max is $22an/hr. (Must have completed internal TMA training to reach max wage)


Summary

This individual will work closely with the treatment team to ensure client needs are identified and met appropriately. This individual will ensure the comfort and safety of the clients. This individual will assist in the daily care of the clients in the program. This individual will assist the Program Director and Nursing staff with scheduling of clinical assistants, ensuring the needs of clinical assistant other responsibilities and the needs of CADT coincide. Will also assist in training of clinical assistants and maintaining other needs of the Units.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inform clients of program policies and procedures, client rights, grievance procedures, facility vulnerable adult abuse prevention plans, and other subjects as part of specific therapeutic procedures.
  • Complete admission and discharge paperwork and DAANES forms and will document each client’s behavior in client records, and will complete other documents as required.
  • Perform vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, etc.) on client as instructed.
  • Observe/monitor clients to detect behavior patterns and problems; intervene as necessary to maintain a safe and orderly facility; and report observations to appropriate staff.
  • Respond to crises and emergencies as trained and outlined in policy and procedure, including notifying the shift supervisor immediately.
  • Document what happened during the shift in client records and on logs, as appropriate.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required and approved.
  • This individual may administer or monitor medications, depending on the program and as trained.
  • There are no supervisory duties for this individual
  • Perform light housekeeping and transport duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, use hands to handle, grab, finger and feel, and to reach, taste and smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include the ability to read, write and comprehend, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, this individual may be exposed to hazards and physical risks, to which the employee will be instructed on appropriate methods of controlling volatile situations. This individual may be exposed to blood, body fluids and caustic substances. The noise level in this environment is generally moderate.
