Twin Ports Second Annual Recovery Walk
TWIN PORTS SECOND ANNUAL RECOVERY WALK
TAKES PLACE SEPTEMBER 13
The Twin Ports second annual Recovery Walk to promote awareness in the community about substance abuse will take place Saturday, September 13. Sponsored by the Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment (CADT), Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge and The Duluth Bethel, the two-mile walk will begin at Canal Park’s Endion Station and proceed down Duluth’s Lakewalk.
“Last year’s walk was inspiring and we know this year’s will be too,” said Tina Silverness, CADT chief operating officer. “The recovery walk is for the whole community. It’s a celebration of the freedom recovery brings. But we also want to reduce the stigma associated with alcohol and drug issues and show support for people no matter where they are in their recovery.”
The walk is free and open to everyone. Walkers can register at 9:30 a.m. The walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. The first 50 walkers will receive a t-shirt.
